Stayed for one night. Nice room, great view. Room was clean, help was great, had a little problem with the daylight savings time change, but otherwise was a great stay. I had friends in different rooms and they were each happy with their rooms. The suite style rooms are spacious and have a nice fireplace. I would suggest this for a family get away and/or fraternity formal (what we were there for). Food was great too.
nice pokemon
- The propertly is beautiful with a sceinic golf course, new boat docks, recently added outdoor poor and deceptivly nice lobby. It is very disappointing to see hotel rooms that cost $100+ night, plus $10 per person over 16 (we think, it could have been as low as 2, no one there seemed to know the exact age and as I said earlier management was non-existent) and $10 per night for a boat slip. There is no reason the rooms should in such bad shape.
- Management needs to made a more visable appearance as during our whole stay we never once saw someone who appeared to be management.
- The room door does not open and close properly. I, being a 200 man, had to put a shoulder into the door to open or close it with any amount of ease.
- I over heard several of the housekeeping staff arguing rather loudly in another guest's room, there is obviously some tension among the service staff.
Our family had, key word had, been going to Eagle Creek Resort once a year for almost 10 years. We enjoyed having a hotel that was lakeside with docks for our boat.
The comments left on our comment card follow:
- WiFi is available only in the lobby. The effort has not even been put in to change the name as it is still the default "linksys"
- The tub drain was very slow to drain and after a short shower you wound up standing in water an inch or so in depth.
Great camping. Excellent sites
- The electrical outlet in the bathroom had contacts so loose that my mother was unable to even get a curling iron hot enough to curl her hair.
- Our room smelled of an cologne and mildew. There was visible mold on the walls. The carpet and all cloth surfaces were wet to the touch upon arrival. We were told that the mold was caused by recent flooding (the lake was up 10+ feet) but come on, at least clean up the mold and cover up the smell with something better than Old Spice.
On our family's most recent stay the conditions of Eagle Creek Resort had deteriorated to the point that I feel it must be made know to others.
Nice campsites. Shower house was clean, but restroom by our site wasn't. Smelled awful of course I realize it's not a flush toilet, but there was feces all over the back of the womens toilet. Gross! Campsite #88 is close to the water, but had a steep bank to climb down. Small bridge to cross on path is in need of repair. Didn't catch a thing in this cove though. Maybe someone else will have better luck. Site was clean and shaded. Only thing I didn't like was I could not find a dumpster. The one by the entrance had sign that read, no yard waste and no household trash. Hmm, so I guess we take our garbage home withus. They could put a dumpster our two different places for convenience, such as by the showerhouse. Just a thought.
Conclusion : I would not recommend a stay at Eagle Creek Resort until renovations or even routine maintenance has been completed on the rooms.
